Doña Paula Estate Chardonnay

Golden yellow color. Citric and mineral aromas with notes of spices and tropical fruits. In the mouth, it is fresh, lively, with good acidity and balance.
In Finca Alluvia, Gualtallary (at 1,350 meters [almost 4,430 ft] above sea level), Doña Paula Estate Chardonnay is planted on soils that are sandy on the surface and have calcareous and alluvial stones in their depth. The Uco Valley climate presents warm days and cool nights, with an average temperature variation of 13°C (55.4°F). The average annual rainfall is 280 mm (11.02 in). The grapevines are espalier trained and drip irrigation with melt water is used. The yield is 8 tonnes per hectare (approximately 3.24 tonnes per acre). At Doña Paula, our vineyards have always been managed using sustainable agriculture practices.
Manual harvest is carried out in the first week of March. The grapes are pressed and then fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. 50% of the must ends the fermentation process in new French oak barriques. Ageing takes place in new French oak barriques for a period of 6 to 8 months.
